1. Learn about Amplify Tutoring

Amplify Tutoring offers an opportunity for students to participate in engaging and adaptive lessons with tutors, while accelerating their proficiency in foundational literacy skills.

2. Locate your student’s Amplify username and password in your email

Click the Unlock Message button in the secure email you received from Amplify. This email is secure in order to protect your student’s username and password.

Click the blue button displaying your email address to have a verification number sent to your email.

Enter the verification code from the second email sent from Virtru and click submit.

Write down your username and password to use when you log your student in for tutoring.

3. Join your LAUSD tutoring session

We’ve created easy-to-follow instructions for you to begin your LAUSD tutoring session. Save, print, or download for ease of access.

4. Need help?

We’re here for you! Use the following resources if you need assistance.

  • Call the home-based tutoring toll-free number at (888)302-7935.
  • If you need help with your student’s username/password, you’ll need to provide the following to confirm caregiver status:
    • Student’s initials
    • Caregiver’s name
    • Caregiver email address provided at time of enrollment
    • Student’s tutoring group name
  • Your student’s username and password will be sent to the email address provided to us at registration via Virtu from customer support.

Need assistance with a device provided by LAUSD? Please follow these instructions for support:

  • Contact LAUSD IT Support at (213)241-5200 and describe the issue.
  • They will provide a ticket and incident number.
  • Send an email to Shalonda Johnson at shajohnson@amplify.com and provide the ticket and incident number.
  • Shalonda will then work with LAUSD IT to expedite your concern and address the device issue.
